1. Read Marzano Indicators. This is a helpful guide for preparing good classroom lessons.

2. Explore the CPALMS website to familiarize yourself with standards pertinent to your content area: http://www.cpalms.org/Public/

3. Check out some websites for sample lesson plans.

Even though you are permitted to use others' lesson plans (provided you include proper citation), make sure that you include all components required on the lesson plan template/rubric for our class. If you use someone else's lesson plan, cite them and the source in the reference part of your lesson plan.

Just a thought: you can create a graphic organizer for your use, but if you fill it out as part of your lesson, you can also provide your "students" with smaller copies of the graphic organizer that they can fill out while you fill out your copy during your lesson. That's a way to keep your students engaged in your lesson.
